Kittens

Here are some pictures of the color's of kittens from Silkfire in the past to show you the various colors possible.  Go to the Photos page to see what these colors look like on mature adults.  These specific kittens are not necessarily available now.

Silkfire Author of Liberty (born July 4th!)
aka, Libby

Silkfire Allegro

These are seal point (l) and blue point (r) kittens at 12 weeks old.  There is already shading on the coat, and you can fully see the gloving.   The face color is spreading out and deepening in intensity at this age.  A seal color is like dark chocolate, a blue color is that of gunmetal gray.  You can generally see both gloving and laces at this age to determine if the kitten is show or pet quality.

Silkfire Zooey, Silkfire Adagio, Silkfire Aristotle, and Silkfire Allegro (and Pairodocs Aquene, the Van)

These are 8 weeks old kittens.  The sleepy one on the left is a seal point, the 2 in the middle are chocolate points and the one on the right is a blue point.  (on the far right is a Honorary birman, from a Turkish Van litter).  You can see that the dilute colors, chocolate and lilac, have whiter coats than the primary colors or seal or blue.

Silkfire Aristotle (l)

This is a chocolate point kitten at 16 weeks old.  The chocolate point coloring is more like milk chocolate.  The color in the mask doesn't spread as far or as fast as in the seal point.  You can see their gloving much earlier than the lilac point, but it may still be hard to see the laces until they are 12 weeks or older. Being a dilute, the chocolate also has a whiter coat than the seals or blues.

Silkfire Along Comes Mary of Ashi (r)

This is a lilac point kitten at 8 weeks old.  You can see nose color and some ear color, but it takes a very long time for the gloving to come in.  They are sometimes as old as 6 months before you are sure of their laces.  The coat has a whiter cast to it than the seal and blue points.

Elpis Ariel of Silkfire

This is a seal lynx point kitten.  There are tabby markings in the face, on the legs and faintly on the tail.  This pattern tends to lighten up the darkness of the face and the legs.  The lynx point comes in all of the other Birman colors, so you can have blue lynx, chocolate lynx and lilac lynx as well.  Silkfire is hoping for our first lynx point kittens this fall!

If you are interested in Birman kittens send me a message and I will tell you what is available or is coming up.
